PROPERTY TYPES
The Property Search section has several criteria from which to chose
and narrow down your search. The basic criteria are Area, Price Range and Property Type. There are many different types of
properties for sale in southern Spain and here we give a brief explanation and description of some of the most popular.

Country houses,
sometimes known as
fincas or cortijos, are located in
rural valleys and hillsides, often with a large plot of land, possibly with irrigation systems for growing crops. Some are
new, some restored and some requiring renovation. Many are surrounded by vineyards, almond and olive groves and have views
over countryside, mountains, lakes, white villages and the Mediterranean.

Townhouses, apartments,
duplex apartments (2 stories) & penthouses (aticos)
have balconies and terraces often with sea and mountain views, and are located in pretty white
villages, coastal or golf resorts. Townhouses may be terraced
or semi-detached. Many have roof terraces and patios; some have
gardens. Newer properties offer communal facilities including pools, gardens and tennis courts.

Villas are recently
constructed, detached houses, situated by the coast, lakeside, inland or near to a village or town. The gardens have landscaped areas with mature trees on some
of the more established properties. From 2 to 10+ bedrooms, with any number of bathrooms, features include
private swimming-pools, barbecue areas and terraces. Sometimes classified as property type Chalet
or Bungalow.

Land, plots
and building plots are available from 500m2 upwards, and can be
coastal, rural, lakeside, in or close to towns. Some plots have already obtained permission to build but the size and
density depends on the land classification. Often south facing with sunshine all day and panoramic views of the coast and
mountains.
